Life is not for a moment, but it's a combination OF moments.

After working more than 20 years at MileStone PPS, I opened my own practice RJ Maiden PHD Psychological Services, located in Wellsville, New York. I use an empathetic cognitive-behavioral approach in therapy. I believe people frequently intuitively know best how to “fix” their emotional and behavioral problems; nevertheless, I am pragmatic and I focus on what works for the individuals and their families, and offer apt suggestions when appropriate.

I see individuals from the age of two up to the oldest-old. I see people of all gender orientations, cultures and walks of life. I aspire to be nonjudgmental, transparent, genuine, and honest with individuals. I believe that psychotherapy is an effective treatment to solve most mental health problems (research shows that therapy is 75 to 80% effective). I believe that there is good in everyone and most family members love one another, no matter how detached they may appear to be. I believe that with hard work and active problem solving eventually things can and will improve. It is my foremost goal to assist my patients and clients to have a meaningful, sustaining and fulfilling life.
